Q: What is OSINT Industries' data protection approach?

OSINT Industries platform is used by investigators working on a wide range of subjects, including serious organized crime investigations like war crimes and human trafficking. OSINT Industries has robust information security and data protection policies. For example, search history is intentionally not stored, nor are any search results returned on the platform or through the API.

Q: How does OSINT Industries work?

OSINT Industries is an OSINT automation tool, meaning all data returned when querying a selector is open-source and could be gathered independently, albeit more slowly. The information is consensually shared on the internet, and our terms require investigators to have permission before searching a selector.

Q: How do I remove information that the platform shows on my selectors?

To remove OSINT information, adjust privacy settings with the original data source. For example, if an email search indicates a Google account, you can manage the public information displayed through your Google privacy settings.

Q: How accurate is the data that your platform returns?

OSINT Industries is a real-time OSINT tool, so data is fetched live when a selector is searched, making it accurate to the data source at that time. While rare, false positives can occur if people use others' names on platforms that do not require account verification.

What is OSINT Industries data protection approach?

OSINT Industries platform is utilised by investigators working on a massive range of subjects, some are working on serious organised crime such as investigating war crimes, human trafficking and more. For that reason OSINT Industries has very developed information security and data protection policies. Users of the platform may note some features missing, such as a search history, which is intentional. OSINT Industries does not store any of the searches made on the platform or through the API, nor does it store any of the search results returned.

How does OSINT Industries work?

OSINT Industries platform is an OSINT automation tool. What that means is that none of the data returned when you query a selector is closed source. You can gather the exact same data outside the platform, it would just take you a longer time. All of the information returned is consensually shared by users with the internet, and our terms and conditions require that an investigator has permission to gather information on a selector before searching.

How do I remove information that the platform shows on my selectors?

Users can easily remove OSINT information about them by going to the data source. For example if you search an email and it returns that you have a Google account, you can control the amount of information you share with the public through your account by changing your privacy settings on Google.

How accurate is the data that your platform returns?

OSINT Industries is a live realtime OSINT tool, and so all of the data is fetched in realtime when a selector is searched. Because of this the data is accurate to the sources at the point of searching. The data returned is limited in real-life accuracy however as people can register accounts with other peoples names on platforms that do not require account verification. This is rare, but worth knowing.
